This is not another test flight. The payload is operational Starlink V3 satellites — hardware intended for the live constellation, not a mass simulator. That's the line between a development program and a production vehicle.
The mission matters for two reasons. First, it's the first time Starship will attempt a true orbital insertion rather than the deliberately sub-orbital trajectories flown through Flight 11 — which kept any failure re-entering rather than leaving debris. Second, Starlink V3 is the next-generation constellation layer: higher throughput, designed for the direct-to-cell service SpaceX has been building toward.
Booster 21 on the pad is the last visible milestone before a launch attempt. The countdown clock is real.
